Karnataka High Court will resume the hearing of the petitions filed by Muslim students today afternoon. On Tuesday, Petitioner's advocate submitted that wearing of hijab is essential right in the Islamic law. Any infringement of this right violets the fundamental rights of the students, petitioner's advocate argued.
The plea seeks permission to wear hijab in the college premises. A single bench headed by justice Krishna S. Dixit will continue to hear the petitions filed by Ayesha Hajeera Almas and others.
