Selma Blair’s Representatives Say Actress Had No Intention of Hurting Anyone During Flight Incident

Actor Selma Blair did not intend to harm anyone during a recent flight from Los Angeles to New York that resulted in her arrest, according to a statement released by her representatives on Friday. The actress, 54, is accused of assaulting two flight attendants, a police officer and a nurse during the incident and its aftermath.

The lengthy statement sought to address what her representatives described as inaccurate and unsympathetic accounts of the events aboard the Delta flight on Sunday, which led to Blair’s first arrest.

“Selma Blair experienced a medical emergency on the flight,” the statement said, adding, “There was no attempt to open the door of the aircraft. Selma did not intend to harm anyone.”

Blair’s representatives had previously attributed the incident to a medical emergency, as had her attorney during court proceedings. However, the latest statement offered a more detailed response to the allegations and the public reaction surrounding the case.

The actress has multiple sclerosis (MS), a chronic neurological condition. Without specifying the circumstances surrounding her medical episode, her representatives also described suggestions that she does not have the condition as “outrageous.”
