Bommai visits rain affected areas in city

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has instructed the BBMP commissioner to clear the encroachments in the buffer zone area in Yelahanka.

After visiting flood-affected areas in Yelahanka and Manyatha tech park, the Chief Minister said that action will be taken to widen the storm water drain. The existing two stormwater drain has been encroached upon, instruction has been given to clear the same, Mr. Bommai said.

Chief Minister has also visited the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre For Advance Scientific Research Institution, where rain water entered research labs. Chief Minister asked the BBMP officials to take appropriate action to drain out the water.

Yelahanka lake has two drain water storms, but due to the narrow strip, rain water has entered the nearby flats and Research institute, the CM added.

BBMP has identified 714 illegal construction which encroached Raja Kaluve, CM has ordered the BBMP to issue notice to residential houses and flats which encroached upon Raja Kaluve.
