MUMBAI: (Jul 9) Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt’s former personal assistant has been arrested for allegedly cheating her out of more than ₹76 lakh, police sources confirmed.
According to the complaint, the accused was involved in financial misconduct over an extended period, misusing Bhatt’s trust and access to her accounts. The fraud reportedly came to light during an internal audit of personal transactions.
The assistant was taken into custody by Mumbai Police after a brief investigation and is currently being questioned. Further details about how the funds were siphoned off are expected to emerge as the probe progresses.
Neither Bhatt nor her team has made an official public statement yet, but sources close to the actress said she is fully cooperating with the investigation.
