Tamil Nadu Govt extends lockdown for another week

Chennai:  The Tamil Nadu government has extended lockdown in the state for another week till July 12 with additional relaxations. 

In a major relief, the government has revoked the e-pass or the e-registration for people travelling between districts in the state.

The new guidelines:

  • Dine-in allowed in hotels, restaurants with 50% occupancy till 8pm.
  • Tea shops allowed with 50% occupancy.
  • IT companies can function with a 50% workforce.
  • Permitted shops allowed till 8 pm.
  • Hotels, lodges, guest houses can be opened with 50% occupancy.
  • Museums and ASI sites will be open till 5pm.
  • All places of worship can be opened by following SOPs.
  • Gyms and Yoga studios can function with 50% occupancy.
  • Liquor shops will be kept open from 10am-8 pm.
  • Intra-district and inter-district public transport will be allowed with 50% seating capacity.
  • Amusement parks can function without water games.
  • E-registration stands cancelled.
  • 50 guests allowed at weddings, 20 at the funeral.
