“BJP will soon declare Savarkar as father on Nation”,: Owaisi
BJP is spreading false narrative and distorted history for its convenience. Very soon BJP will remove Mahatma Gandhi from Father of the Nation tag and will replace Savarkar in that place, Owaisi said
Hyderabad: Condemning Defence Minister over his statement that “on Mahatma Gandhi’s request, Savarkar seeks mercy petitions to the British”, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi alleged that the BJP will soon declare Vinayak Damodar Savarkar as ‘the father of the nation”.
Speaking to ANI, Mr Owaisi said: "BJP is presenting distorted and fabricated history, if same situation continues they will not hesitate to remove Mahatma Gandhi and make Savarkar who was accused of the murder of Mahatma Gandhi as father of nation”, Mr. Owaisi said.
Mr. Rajnath Singh praised Savarkar has India’s first defence strategist and patriot. He further said, because of Mahatma Gandhi’s request he sought mercy from British rule. He was speaking at book release function. The book titled 'Veer Savarkar: The Man Who Could Have Prevented Partition'.
Mr. Singh further said that lies were spread doubting Savarkar’s love towards nationalism. Time and again the false narrative spread on him about filing of mercy petition before British rule and seeking release from jail, Mr. Singh said in book release program.
