Death toll from Texas flash floods rises to 109; more than 160 still missing

At least 109 people have died and more than 160 remain missing after devastating flash floods swept through Texas, with rescue operations continuing along the Guadalupe River.
According to officials, 87 of the fatalities occurred in Kerr County. Camp Mystic, a summer camp situated along the river in Hunt, Texas, confirmed on Monday that at least 27 campers and counselors lost their lives in the flooding, Xinhua news agency reported.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott said at a news briefing on Tuesday afternoon that at least 161 people are still unaccounted for following the disaster. He added that search efforts would continue along the Guadalupe River system in hopes of finding any remaining survivors.
