CCB releases minister Sriramalu’s PA

Bengaluru: Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have released Rajanna, the personal assistant of the social welfare minister B. Sriramalu after interrogating his alleged involvement in an extortion case.

Based on the complaint of B.Y. Vijayendra, son of the Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa, the CCB police, took him to custody on Thursday night and interrogated him at CCB technical cell office near Adugodi.

CCB police have taken a voice sample of Rajanna, who allegedly extorted money to do government favor by using Vijayendra's name.

Soon after his PA’s arrest, Mr. Sriramalu aired his displeasure against the Chief Minister for keeping him in the dark about his detention. However, sources said that CCB had picked him from the minister’s house. The minister was very much present while CCB police had to take him to their custody.
