The Kashmir Files march towards entering the 300 crore club

Bengaluru: The Kashmir Files, starring Anupam Kher and Mithun Chakraborty, has continued its fabulous run at the box office. The film, which is still playing at packed houses, is all set to enter the 300 crore club of movies.
The Kashmir Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, has set the silver screen on fire, and its craze among the audience is unlikely to die down soon. The film, which did not make much noise on the first day of its opening, has got wide appreciation from the audience and, because of positive reviews and word-of-mouth publicity, has started to attract audiences.
Because of the content, curiosity, and controversy, the movie created a buzz. The film earned Rs 27.15 crore by the end of its first weekend. By the end of the first week, the movie collected Rs 97.30 crore and entered the 100 crore club in its second week.
According to Bollywood Hungama, the film has earned Rs 210.77 crore so far, including domestic and overseas earnings.
Film critic, movie business analyst Taran Adarsh said that the movie collected Rs 167.45 crore from the domestic market. He wrote "#TheKashmirFiles [Week 2] is a TSUNAMI at the #BO... Packs a SUPER-SOLID total [₹ 70.15 cr] in Weekend 2... #TKF REFUSES TO SLOW DOWN, should hit ₹ 200 on weekdays [by Wed or Thu]... Fri 19.15 cr, Sat 24.80 cr, Sun 26.20 cr. Total: ₹ 167.45 cr. #India biz."
In many cities, local elected representatives arranged special screenings of the movie. In Karnataka, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi arranged the free screening of the movie in two theatres, one in Hubballi and one in Dharwad, for three days.
MLA Arvind Bellad arranged a special screening of the movie in Dharwad for two days. Minister CC Patil arranged three-day special screenings in Gadag.
The Kashmir Files, starring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, and Darshan Kumar, hit the silver screen on March 11. The film tells the plight of Kashmiri Pandits who were forced to flee their homes (Kashmir Genocide). The Kashmiri Pandits were tormented, forcibly removed from their homeland, and slaughtered in 1990. The film seeks to inform the public about this horrible period in history.
The film is produced by Abhishek Agarwal, Tej Narayan Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi, and Vivek Agnihotri under the Zee Studios, IAmBuddha, and Abhishek Agarwal Arts banners. Udaysingh Mohite did the camera work, and Shankh Rajadhyaksha edited the movie.
