Russian forces inching closer to capture Kyiv

With the Russian forces continuing to attack over Ukraine in order to capture it, they are now inching closer to the capital Kyiv, and it is just a matter of time for the Kyiv to fall into the hands of Russia, international media reports said.

Amid the forces of Russia moving towards the capital, president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has alleged that Russia has started bombing the civilian areas.

With the entire capital being turned into a fortress, the reports said that innumerable citizens have remained holed up in various cities of the war-ravaged country. Meanwhile, efforts to bring peace failed to achieve any desired result in the meeting of diplomats of both countries.

A Report quoting the Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klistschko has claimed that around half of the population has already fled from the city.

“ We have fortified every nook and corner of the city by deploying armed forces”, he said. Meanwhile, the Russian forces have continued their march towards major cities of the country and heading towards northern parts of Kyiv.

The forces of both countries are holding a strong battle to take control over the main highway that leads to Kyiv.

The citizens said that they are really worried about their lives as shelling continued, however, they said that they have no place to hide or escape. “ If we live, we will live here, if we die, we will die here that is it”, the citizens said.

The bombardment has continued without any break over the city of Mariupol. The government is unable to supply relief materials to the people because of heavy shelling, the government said.

Zelensky described the attack on Ukraine by Russia as a war crime. While the war continued, the International Committee of the Red Cross has said that the people are now facing acute shortage of food and water.
