Mumbai: The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) won their third game in a row in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on Thursday at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, defeating the Delhi Capitals (DC) by six wickets.

Quinton de Kock's brilliant top-order knock of 80 (52) guided Lucknow Super Giants to a victorious chase in the last over after the LSG bowling attack limited Delhi Capitals to 149-3 in the first innings.

Batting first, DC scored 149 with a quick-fire innings from Prithvi Shaw. He scored 61 in just 34 balls.

Even though David Warner scored only four runs and Shaw and Warner shared a 61-run partnership, Shaw was the first man out, followed by Warner, and then Rovmen Powell, who also departed for three runs.

At one point in time, DC, which was looking good,lost three wickets for just 74 runs on board. The new batsmen, Rishbh Pant and Sarfaraz Khan, did not allow the LSG bowlers to dominate and a 75-run partnership developed between these two. Pant scored an unbeaten 39 and Khan scored 36.

The LSG chase was good. Both openers, KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock, made a partnership of 73 runs. Evin Lewis departed after just five runs. Deepak Hooda failed to shine in this match. He was dismissed for just 11 runs. Krunal Pandya and Ayush Badoni did the remaining business.

Though it was not a high-scoring game, bowlers from both teams struggled to get wickets. In this match, only seven wickets fell. For DC Kuldeep Yadav picked up two wickets. For LSG, Ravi Bishnoi picked up two wickets.
