Bangladesh Women's team beat Pakistan Women by 10 runs

Hamilton: Pakistan Women lost to Bangladesh Women by 10 runs in the 12th match of the ICC Women's World Cup 2022 tournament.

Batting first at Hamilton's Seddon Park, the Bangladesh women's team posted a total of 234 runs in their 50 overs. The Pakistan team was able to score 225 in 50 overs.

The Bangladesh team, which started batting at a slow pace, lost their first wicket when the score was 37 in the form of Shamima Sultana. Opener Sharmin Akhter, Fagana Hoque stitched a partnership of 42 runs. Hoque was the highest scorer for the Bangla team. She scored 71 while playing 115 deliveries.

The Bismah Maroof-led team restricted the South African women to just 223 but, unable to win the match, they fell six runs short.

The Bangladesh team lost their previous match against South Africa by 32 runs. New Zealand defeated them by nine wickets in a match which was marred by rain.

The India Women's team will play their next match against England Women at Bay Oval. The team has reached Tauranga. In their last match, India beat the West Indies by 155 runs.
