Lucknow: Ashish Mishra, the son of MoS Home Ajay Mishra Teni and prime accused in Lakhimpur Kheri violence walked out of jail after being released on bail on Tuesday. MoS Home Ajay Mishra Teni arrived at the residence of his son to meet him.

Ashish Mishra, along with around 20 unnamed men, was accused and charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, rash driving, and rioting among others.

Ashish was arrested on October 9, 2021, in the Lakhimpur Kheri case in which at least four farmers and a journalist were killed during a protest against the now-repealed farm laws.

Mishra allegedly rammed a vehicle, in which four farmers were crushed to death, during farmers’ protest against the three farm laws passed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Union Government. Two BJP members and Ajay Mishra Teni's driver were lynched by protestors in the subsequent violence.

It happened on 3 October 2021 at Banbirpur village near Tikunia in Lakhimpur Kheri district, Uttar Pradesh.

SBSP chief OP Rajbhar said Ashish Mishra, accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, was granted bail to garner Brahmin votes in the ongoing Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni, was granted bail by the Allahabad high court as polling for the first phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections is underway.

OP Rajbhar said, "Ashish Mishra was given bail only because he is the son of a minister. BJP knows that it is losing the polls. They are trying to garner Brahmin votes by securing bail in order to send a message to the community that this bail is the result of their efforts."

"MoS Home Ajay Mishra Teni's son was granted bail but farmers who died on the Ghazipur border and Lakhimpur have not got justice. Wherever BJP has a personal interest, that person gets bail and when their interest isn't fulfilled there's no bail", he added.
