AAP racing towards history in Punjab, Bhagwant Mann is our 'desi' Zelensky

Panjim: Aam Adami Party is all set to create history in Punjab. AAP has crossed the halfway mark in the state. The counting is underway for 117 seats, in which AAP is leading in 84 seats, Congress in 11, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in 10, and BJP is leading on 4 seats.
Celebrations are on at AAP's CM candidate Bhagwant Mann's residence in Sangrur as the party crosses the majority mark in Punjab. Mann leading from his Dhuri constituency.

Meanwhile, Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu is trailing at second place in Amritsar East constituency, SAD's Bikram Majithia is at third place, in the second round of counting, as per Election Commission.
If AAP wins a majority of seats as predicted by exit poll surveys, the party will create history as the first non-Congress and non-Akali Dal party to take the reigns of the border state.
Bhagwant Mann Bhagwant Mann is Lok Sabha MP from Sangrur constituency in Punjab and is the party's state unit chief. Before joining politics, Mann was a professional comedian and earned the name Comedy King" and "Jugnu". In 2008, Mann competed in the Great Indian Laughter Challenge on Star Plus which increased his audience. Bhagwant Mann also acted in the National Award-winning Film " Main Maa Punjab Dee" Directed by Balwant Dulla.
Mann's rise is akin to Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy who is currently facing the invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces. Before becoming the president Zelenskyy was a famous comedian in Ukraine. He starred in a comedy series as the Ukrainian President. Back in 2015, former actor and comedian Volodymyr Zelenskyy played Vasiliy Petrovich Goloborodko, a high school teacher propelled to the presidency after a student's video of him denouncing official corruption in Ukraine goes viral. Zelenskyy also won the first season of Ukraine's version of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ in 2006. In a video doing the rounds of the internet, the actor-president impressed everyone with his dance moves.
