250 Indian nationals from Ukraine lands at Delhi airport

New Delhi: The second evacuation flight from the Romanian capital Bucharest carrying 250 Indian nationals who were stranded in Ukraine landed at the Delhi airport in the early hours of Sunday. 

Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Jyotiraditya Scindia welcomed the students at the Delhi Airport. 
He said, "Relieved and delighted to see 250 Indians safely return from Ukraine on the Air India flight at the Delhi Airport. Received and interacted with them along with my colleague  V Muraleedharan Ji". 

"The situation is bad at many places in Ukraine, citizens have taken up arms to save their country. Stockpiling was began where I was staying", a student who returned from Ukraine said. 

"Many students are staying in bunkers due to attacks against Ukraine. The situation is difficult. Thanks to govt that they evacuated us on time," students said.

On Saturday evening, Union Minister Piyush Goyal received the first batch of home-bound Indians from Ukraine, as the first evacuation flight of Air India, AIC 1944 touched down at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai.

The aircraft, which had taken off from the Henri Coanda International Airport, Bucharest, Romania this afternoon, brought home 219 passengers, mostly students from India.
