Sunanda Pushkar death case: Court adjourns order on framing of charges against Tharoor
New Delhi: Delhi court Tuesday adjourned the order on framing charges against Congress MP Shashi Tharoor in the Sunanda Pushkar death case till August 18.
The court allowed Delhi Police to submit additional documents related to the case, reported news agency ANI.
The police in chargesheet had accused Shashi Tharoor of offences under Sections 498A (marital cruelty) and 306 (abetment to suicide) of the IPC.
Sunanda Pushkar was found dead in mysterious circumstances in her suite at Delhi’s Leela Hotel on January 17, 2014. Ever since her body was found in suite number 345 at the hotel, conspiracy theories and allegations have haunted her family.
In 2019, the court had dismissed an application moved by Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy in which he had sought directions to the police to produce a 2016 vigilance enquiry report on the role of police officers probing the Sunanda Pushkar’s death case.
