DMK sweeps in local bodies polls
M.K. Stalin headed DMK has won in local bodies polls. Pro people policies of Staln government has been widely appreciated in Tamil Nadu, and it has given results in local bodies polls.
Chennai: Impressed his pro people policies, the Tamil Nadu voters voted for M.K. Stalin headed DMK party in local bodies polls. Ruling party has leading in local bodies polls in all newly created districts.
Nine new districts have been created for administrative conveniences and public demand. DMK has won 45 of 153 district panchayat ward and leading in rest of seats. Out of 1421 Panchayat union wards, DMK has won 645 wards and leading in remaining wards.
This is the first elections for Chief Minister M.K. Stalin headed DMK government after he took charge in May 2021. Local body polls results would consider as huge set back to AIADMK- BJP alliance in the state.
In the Assembly elections, the DMK-Congress won 159 of 234 seats and the AIADMK-BJP won 75. Kamal Haasan's MNM failed to win a single seat and the actor himself was beaten in Coimbatore, where the BJP's Vanathi Srinivasan emerged a winner.
After resounding victory in local bodies polls, Mr. Stalin has thanked the voters for endorsing pro people policies of his government. "We will work even harder... will protect the confidence people have in us. The goodwill for us has increased over the last five months," he said in a statement.
Meanwhile, a BJP candidate from Coimbatore secured just one vote, he has trolled in social media for securing one vote despite having four members in the family.
