Complete lockdown on Sundays in Kerala except Independence Day, Onam

Thiruvananthapuram: After daily Covid cases surged higher than any state had recorded in the last two months, the Kerala Government on Wednesday decided to restrict complete lockdown for Sundays.

Shop timings will be from 7 am-9 pm for six days in a week. A maximum of 20 people will be allowed at weddings and funerals.

Health Minister Veena George said there should be no lockdown on 15th August (Independence Day). The government intends to lift the lockdown restrictions on 22nd August because of the Onam festival.
