Bombs hurled outside BJP MP's residence in North 24 Parganas

Kolkata: A group of men hurled bombs outside the residence of BJP Member of Parliament Arjun Singh in North 24 Parganas on Wednesday. Two people have been arrested in connection with the explosions.

Srihari Pandey, DC (North), Barrackpore Police said, "On enquiry, we found that 6-7 people came out of Mazdoor Bhawan, thrashed a boy and again entered the building. The boy then came with some people & hurled bombs at the Bhawan gate. 2 persons have been detained &are being interrogated".

This morning, bombs were hurled at my home. Honourable Home Amit Shahji enquired over the phone. I thank him. I don’t expect an impartial probe by West Bengal Police, demand for NIA probe. I had informed Jagdeep Dhankhar ji about a conspiracy by an officer to kill me on instructions of the West Bengal government.

West Bengal Governor Jagdeep called the incident in North 24 Parganas is worrisome. He said the issue has been raised with the chief minister.

"Wanton violence in West Bengal shows no sign of abating. Bomb explosions as this morning outside the residence of Member Parliament Arjun Singh is worrisome on law and order. Expect prompt action. As regards his security the issue has been earlier been flagged to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjea."
