Uproar in Rajya Sabha, TMC MPs snatch away papers from IT Minister

New Delhi: The Rajya Sabha, Upper House of the Parliament, witnessed a high drama as Electronics and Information Technology Minister, Ashwini Vaishnav, was forced to cut short his statement on Pegasus snooping controversy amid uproar by the opposition members.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs snatched away a paper from the hands of IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. While he was speaking on the controversial 'Pegsus Project' media report in the House, they tore papers.

Swapan Dasgupta, BJP MP said, "He was making a statement, you had a right to question him after that. Is this the type of hooliganism we see inside the House? This is completely against all norms, I think it should be condemned out right".

After the adjournment of the House, a verbal feud ensued between BJP MPs and TMC MPs after MP Shantanu Sen snatched papers from the minister. Marshals intervened to bring the situation under control.

TMC MP Sukhendu Sekhar Roy evaded a question on the MPs of the party, snatching away a paper from the hands of the IT Minister.
