During the campaign for the UP election, one of the video of BJP MLA, Bhupesh Chaubey of Robertsganj assembly segment was going viral where the sitting MLA was seen doing sit-ups in front of the hundreds of people at the campaign rally.

The MLA who was seeking votes as he was contesting again, succeeded in his efforts as he had won the election to retain the position.

According to the statistics, Chaubey received 84496 votes in the election where he defeated Avinash Kushwaha of the Samajwadi Party by over 5600 votes.

The BJP MLA became suddenly popular on social media for his strange act of doing sit ups while seeking votes.The 47-year-old BJP MLA was seen doing sit-ups holding his ears from the stage of an election rally, in a bid to seek "forgiveness" of the voters of his constituency.

A total of 10 candidates were in the fray for the Assembly poll from Robertsganj, including Chaubey, who had won the constituency election in 2017 to become a first-time MLA.

The 47-year-old BJP MLA had hogged the limelight during poll campaigns after he was seen doing sit-ups holding his ears from the stage of an election rally, in a bid to seek “forgiveness” of the voters of his constituency.

He was also trolled by many on social media platforms when the video went viral. Some said that the act is the display of desperation of the MLA to win the election again, for which he is ready to do anything.

The sitting MLA who was seeking votes again in the election, was also facing nine more candidates contested from the constituency. The MLA had won for the first time in 2017 assembly polls on a BJP ticket.

Another video of him went viral where he was seen giving a massage to an elderly voter, who was apparently having a pain in his legs and lower back. Chaubey had met him and applied ointment on his body.

His usual style of campaign seems to have worked as the people have voted him again for the second time.
