Lucknow: Horrifying video clipping surfaced on social media in which SUV running over farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri, the video has been shared by BJP MP of Pilibhit constituency, Varun Gandhi and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. 

The video being shared widely on social media is yet to be authenticated by UP police, however, the vehicle has run over protesting farmers intentionally. During violence including four farmers, eight people have killed. 

Earlier in the day, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi tweeted questioning the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not uttering any word about Lakhimpur Kheri violence. 

"@narendramodi Sir, your government has kept me in custody for the last 28 hours without any order and FIR. This person who crushed the anna data (farmers) has not been arrested yet. Why?" Priyanka Gandhi tweeted. 

In the 25-second video clip, the SUV rams protesters, who fall to the ground, while others scramble to get out of the way. Another vehicle, with sirens blaring, is seen tailing the SUV that hit the farmers. Passerby farmers have rushed to the help of injured farmers. 

Farmers who have witnessed the horrifying incident said that the car suddenly hit them from behind. The make and colour of the lead SUV that hits the farmers also match other visuals from the site.

The farmers have alleged that SUV has rammed protesters driven by Union Minister Ajay Kumar Mishra's son Ashish Mishra. Both the Minister and his son have denied even being at the spot, reported in NDTV. One of the BJP worker revealed that he has been sent to the protest site by Ashish Mishra.

Farmers have tried to block the entry of Ajay Kumar Mishra and UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya to the protest site. The protesters were upset over a recent speech by Mr. Mishra.

After the incident, violence broke out, agitated farmers have allegedly assaulted the BJP workers and set fire to SUV. 

The farmers claimed the violence broke out after a car in the minister's convoy ran over protesters. Visuals from the area showed arson and vehicles set on fire.

The government has promised to pay a compensation of ₹ 45 lakh to the families of those who died. The injured will receive a compensation of ₹ 10 lakh. A retired judge will investigate the matter, the state government has said.

Meanwhile, Ajay Kumar Mishra said that his son was not present at the spot, the miscreants who attacked the workers with sticks and swords, if his son been there, he wouldn’t have come out alive.
