Petrol and diesel prices increased 5th time

New Delhi: Price of petrol and diesel in Delhi is at Rs 99.11 per litre and Rs 90.42 per litre respectively on Sunday (prices increased by 50 & 55 paise respectively).

In Mumbai, the petrol and diesel prices per litre stood at Rs 113.88 and  Rs 98.13 (increased by 53 paise and  58 paise respectively). 

In Chennai, the price of petrol is Rs 104.90 and  diesel is Rs 95.00 and in Kolkata, the price of petrol is Rs 108.53 and diesel is Rs 93.57.

Petrol and diesel prices were hiked by 80 paise a litre for each on Saturday, It is the fourth increase of fuel price in five days. In the span of four days petrol and diesel prices have gone up by Rs 3.20 a litre.

Soon after five states elections, results are announced, the fuel price has been increased. The oil firms passed on to consumers the spike in the cost of raw material.

Congress and other opposition parties have criticised the government for the price rise saying it has added to the burden on common man reeling under general commodity price rise.
