Muslims, Christians will join RSS someday: K.S. Eshwarappa

Bengaluru:  K. S. Eshwarappa, Minister in Karnataka BJP government, who recently stirred controversy by stating that the saffron flag will become the Indian flag one day, has now predicted that all the Muslims and Christians in the country will join the RSS in the coming days.

Making this claim during the ongoing assembly session, he said there will be a time when even the Muslims and Christians of the country will join the RSS.

Eshwarappa was reacting when Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri used the term "Our RSS" and that a day would come when opposition legislators would also say the same.

The Congress however took exception to the Speaker using the term ‘our RSS’.

The matter started when Leader of the Opposition, Siddaramaiah made a reference to the saffron organization while speaking about his personal relationship with some BJP leaders and Ministers.

“ I give prominence to the personal relations, the party and the ideology comes later”, he said.

Kageri, who was installed, replied to the comment by asking Siddaramaiah as to why he did not like RSS.

Just when Siddaramaiah was trying to reply, Congress MLA Zameer Ahmed Khan intervened by asking the speaker, how come he uses the term. “ Our RSS’ as being a speaker he should be impartial in his approach.

Replying to, Kageri defended his statement by saying that what else he could say was that of our RSS. “Yes it is Our RSS. RSS is ours. Zameer, I am telling you one thing, if not today someday in the future, in our country, even you will have to say Our RSS definitely", he said.

Siddaramiah said that he too is against the RSS. Intervening, Revenue Minister R Ashoka said, RSS has become ubiquitous and omnipresent.
