Indian Coast Guard rescues 7 crew in daring ops off Diu

Mumbai: In a daring night rescue operation amidst challenging weather the Indian Coast Guard indigenous advanced light helicopter rescued seven crew from distressed IFB Ram aground off Diu. All rescued personnel are safe.

The rescue operation was carried off Diu island situated slightly off the coast of Kathiawad near the Port of Veraval in Gujarat with a coastal length of 21 kms.

The Indian Coast Guard has shared the daring op on Twitter. In the video, coast guard personnel aboard ALH Dhruv helicopter is seen rescuing the crew and landing them on the shore.

Meanwhile, responding to Jamnagar civil authorities request following heavy downpour alert in the area Indian Coast Guard Gujarat dispatched 06 inflatable boats and a team of 35 personnel including a medical team for assistance in rescue and relief work.
