Drugs saga from Tollywood, Sandalwood to Bollywood
The arrest of Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan in a drugs case has surfaced the connections between film personalities involved in drug consumption and possession cases in Bollywood, Tollywood and Sandalwood.
The custody of Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan is the biggest arrest of a film-related celebrity in drugs and narcotics cases recently even discounting the fact that Aryan is not an actor. But SRK being who he is, his son's arrest has put the focus of the fight against narcotics right on Bollywood.
From Salman Khan to Suchitra Krishnamurty to Sussannee Khan, support poured in for Aryan from Bollywood. Even politicians like Shashi Tharoor have come out in support of the SRK family. This has not gone down well with those against the drug scandal.
The court has handed over the custody of Aryan to Narcotics Control Board (NCB) till October 7. Drugs was found in the possession of Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamech, two others who have been taken into custody by the NCB.
In Hyderabad, the Enforcement Directorate is investigating a huge drug case involving stars and personalities from the Telugu film industry. Some of the big names who have so far been questioned include Puri Jagannadh, Charmee Kaur, Rakul Preet Singh, Nandu, Daggubati Rana, Ravi Teja, Navdeep, Mumaith Khan and Tanish.
In Sandalwood, on the other hand, two Kannada actresses, Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjana Galrani spent several weeks in custody. They have been accused of peddling drugs along with other accused.
In Aryan's case though drugs was not found on him, Magistrate felt that investigation to arrest the culprits needed his custody.
