15.30 LMT free food grains lifted by 31 States, UTs
New Delhi: Under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana -IV, 31 States and Union Territories lifted 15.30 LMT food grains until 12th July, 2021.
The Central Government has extended Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana for five months, i.e.July-November 2021. Further allocation of 198.79 LMT food grains has been made under PMGKAY-IV (July-November 2021).

To ensure food security during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Union Government is running the longest ever exercise of distributing free food grains to the people.
Food Corporation of India (FCI) has already positioned adequate stocks in all States/ UTs for the successful implementation of PMGKAY-IV. At present, 583 LMT wheat and 298 LMT rice (Total 881 LMT food grains) are available under Central Pool.
