Ruling BJP, opposition parties preparing local bodies polls
Bengaluru: Ruling BJP, Opposition Congress and JD(S) parties have held their organizational meetings to discuss upcoming Zilla panchayat and taluk panchayat elections.
State BJP held its executive meeting both virtual and offline at the party office here on Saturday. Party has discussed preparations for upcoming polls to local bodies, party also discussed bringing awareness about vaccination programs of the Union government.
BJP has criticized the ‘anti people’ stand of the opposition Congress during the second wave of the Covid pandemic. Instead of giving helping hands to the people who suffered during the lockdown, Congress is listing negative aspects of Covid. Opposition leader Siddaramaiah instead of visiting his Assembly constituency Badami, restricted himself to Twitter and giving political statements, said BJP spokesperson Ganesh Karnik after the meeting.
The executive meeting has discussed Covid's management of the Union government and state government. BJP has thanked both union and state government for announcing one lakh compensation to BPL families that have lost life for Covid.
BJP state executive has condemned the attitude of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for supporting his party workers to take revenge against BJP workers after the Assembly elections, Mr. Karnik said.
Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa has guided the cadres by attending online, he called the party workers to get prepared for upcoming local bodies poll.
KPCC working presidents' meet
KPCC President, D.K. Shivakumar has held a meeting with party working Presidents, Saleem Ahmed, Ramalinga Reddy, Dhruvanarayan, Eshwar Khandre, and Satish Jarakiholi, discussed the appointment of new office bearers to the KPCC.
Mr. Shivakumar has met the party high command at Delhi, taken permission to reconstitute party office bearers after taking resignations of incumbent members.
JD(S) meet
Meanwhile, JD(S) has conducted party leaders meeting at its J.P. Bhavan office, discussed price hikes and anti-people policies of the Narendra Modi government.
After the meeting, JD(S) youth president Nikhil Kumaraswamy said that the party will hold agitation against the Centre for hiking fuel price.
