DKS promises  Gandhi to bring back Congress to power in State

KPCC president D K Shivakumar vowed that the party would definitely come to power by winning the next Assembly elections. He said the party is doing its best efforts to win the election and, as a result, in the last two years, many initiatives and protests have been organised to address the issues the common people are facing.

Speaking on selecting candidates for the Assembly seats, DK Shivakumar said he would not pick the candidates but the local leaders and local party workers would decide. Congress decides to select candidates six months before the election,

Siddaramaiah, the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, has stated that candidates for the next Assembly election will be chosen six months before the election so that candidates have ample time to prepare the grounds for victory, and that Rahul Gandhi has agreed to this.

He said this time, the party is putting all its efforts into winning at least 130–140 seats, and while selecting the candidates, the capacity of the candidates to win the election should become the sole criteria.

In his speech, Siddaramaiah discussed halal, hijab, the Bhagvad Gita, and other issues that the BJP is allegedly spreading in the state, and he urged party leaders to support the minority community, Dalits, other backward classes, farmers, and the poor, who are concerned about the BJP government's rule.
