Big relief to Bommai: BJP won Sindgi seat, defeat likely in Hangal

BJP candidate Ramesh Bhusanur won in Sindgi Assembly constituency. Win in one seat in bye polls considered a big relief to the ruling party, especially the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, it was the first electoral test of Bommai after replacing party mascot B.S.Yediyurappa.

Bengaluru: BJP candidate Ramesh Bhusanur win in Sindgi bye polls with a margin of  28,462 votes from his nearest rival Ashok Mangoli.. 

Total 1,17,240 votes were obtained by all three candidates. Ramesh Bhusanur gets 86222 votes, Congress candidate Ashok Managuli obtained 57760 votes, and JD(S) candidate Nazia Angadi gets 3894 votes. The Elections Commission of India has yet to declare the results. 

BJP leaders have thanked the voters of Sindgi constituency, after winning the elections, Ramesh Bhusanur said that the sympathy factor worked in favor of him, due to collective efforts of the leaders and party workers I have won the elections, voters have rejected the decisive politics of Congress and JD(S), he said. 

However, in Hangal, BJP is likely to lose its seat, which was represented by C.M. Udasi. Ruling bjp did all kinds of strategies to win the Hanagl Assembly seat. As per the latest trends, Congress candidate Srinivas Mane is leading by 6818 votes from his rival BJP candidate Shivarj Sajjanvar.  

JD(S) has ended with poor performance in both the seats, former Chief Minister H.D.Kumaraswamy said that in most of the booths, party has no workers, it has faced very much difficult in many booths to mobilize party workers. Moreover, Congress has hijacked its candidate in Sndgi, it's former  MLA son, he blamed. Ashok Manguli has switched over to Congress just before the bye-elections were announced.
