All India Christian Federation legal advisor Ramesh said that AICF has decided to approach Apex court over the government’s decision of bringing the ‘anti-people’ bill.

The BJP government has tabled the Karnataka Right to Freedom of Religious Bill 2021 in the Legislative Assembly amidst protest of Opposition Congress.

Christian community leaders, religious heads, fathers’, have held a meeting, decided to approach the Supreme Court seeking quashing of the bill, Mr. Ramesh added.

The government’s intention is ‘shoot one’s gun from someone else’s shoulder’, it has aimed at backward classes and economically poor section, Mr. Ramesh said and added that the Christian community has lost faith in both opposition and the ruling party.

The Christian community will hold a peaceful protest against the anti-conversion bill. The bill is unconstitutional and violates the fundamental rights of the citizen of their choice to embrace any religion in the Country. The bill violates the very foundation of the Constitution, thus we have decided to approach Supreme Court, Mr. Ramesh said.
