ACB gets shock after seeing wealth of tainted officers

Kalaburgi/ Shivamogga: ACB has unearthed more unaccounted assets of Junior Engineer of PWD department in Jawargi taluk, Shanthagowda Biradar. Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths traced receipt of gold biscuits purchased in Dubai.

ACB also examined the bank accounts of Shanthagouda Biradar and his family. It has also examined the lockers belonging to Biradar and his family.

Biradra has purchased gold biscuits from Dubai, ACB has traced receipts for the same. He has invested more than 50 crores for the purchase of gold biscuits, says ACB sources. Some receipts in the name of Biradar’s son.

For four years, Biradar family stayed in Bengaluru, so he has had bank accounts in Bengaluru. ACB team has arrived to Bengaluru to examine bank accounts of tainted PWD Engineer. ACB team has went to Jayanagara, where it has found receipts of gold biscuits. ACB team has asked locker keys of Biradar, it has anticipated more unaccounted wealth of Biradar in locker the locker.

Biradar daughter has died a few years back, in her memory, he has constructed Ashrama in his farmhouse and he donated two acres of land to Shrishaila Mallikarjuna temple. ACB has counted that, Biradar 406.17 percent unaccounted assets than his known source of income.

ACB released statements of its raids in Biradar house, it has counted that tainted PWD engineer having Rs. 4,15,12,491 crore gold ornaments, cash, vehicles, sites, buildings, household goods, land, bank deposits. Which is more than 406 percent than his a known source of income.

Mr. Shanthgouda hailed from a humble background, but within the span of 15 years, he become filthy rich. His wealth has multiplied in 15 years. After he joined junior engineer in Jawargi he assumed wealth. While awarding tender and giving tender of road works to Benami contractors, Mr. Biradar made a huge amount of money, ACB said.

In another separate case, ACB has seized wealth worth Rs. 6,65,03,782 crore from the joint director of the agriculture department, T.S. Rudreshappa. He has assumed 400 percent more account than his known source of income.

 Before undertaking raid on his house, ACB has prepared well, its officer visited his house situated in Chalukyanagara in Shivamogga, a guise of tenant and asked a house for rent. However, Mr. Rudreshappa questioned them why they need such a big house for rent. For that, ACB sleuths said that they have a joint family and owned an areca nut plantation in Gajanuru. After gathering preliminary information from him, ACB has raided on his house and seized unaccounted wealth.

ACB team headed by SP, Jayaprakash, DySP Lokesh, Inspector Vasanthkumar and team raided Rudreshappa’s house in Shivamogga.  Over 30 members team of ACB has raided his residences at Shivamogga and Chennagiri simultaneously.
