Woman Falls to Death While Filming Reel

A 28-year-old woman, identified as Nandini, tragically died after falling from the 13th floor of an under-construction building in Parappana Agrahara, Bengaluru, late Wednesday night.

Police said she had gone there with friends for a late-night party. The group reportedly consumed alcohol and later argued over a relationship issue. Following the dispute, Nandini went alone to the terrace to record what officials described as a “sad reel.”

While filming, she slipped and fell into the lift shaft, dying instantly. Her friends fled the scene afterward.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Fatima confirmed the group had been partying at the site. “She fell while recording reels. The cause behind the fall is under investigation. A case has been registered under the Unnatural Death Report (UDR),” she said.

Her body was discovered the next morning by a passerby. CCTV footage later helped police trace one of the women present, who revealed the sequence of events during questioning.

Elderly Couple Die by Suicide at Old-Age Home

In a separate incident, an elderly couple, Krishnamurthy (81) and Radha (74), died by suicide at an old-age home in JP Nagar, Bengaluru.

The couple had been admitted a month earlier by their son, Vijay, following family disputes reportedly linked to cooking-related arguments. They had previously stayed at another old-age home in 2021 before returning home in 2023.

On Monday night, they allegedly quarreled over watching different television programmes before retiring to their room. The next morning, staff found them hanging.

Police registered an Unnatural Death Report at Talaghattapura station. Staff suspect emotional distress and feelings of abandonment may have contributed to the tragedy.
